WWE revealed the first inductee in their Hall of Fame’s Class of 2023 and fans are going absolutely nuts.

The company announced that Rey Mysterio will enter the WWE Hall of Fame. That’s right, Mysterio – an active superstar – is going to be inducted into the Hall of Fame! It will be hard to top Rey’s name as an attraction, which is a credit to Rey more than it is a diss to anybody else.

WWE announced the deal on Friday Night Smackdown on FOX. They also made the announcement on Twitter. “BREAKING NEWS: @reymysterio is the 1st inductee for the 2023 #WWEHOF!” they tweeted.

Rey Mysterio is a wrestling legend who’s made himself famous all over the world. He began his career at 15 years old in Mexico. He became a worldwide attraction as he wrestled his way up the ladder in Mexico and Japan. Eventually, he arrived in the United States in Extreme Championship Wrestling, a promotion founded by future Hall of Famer himself, Paul Heyman.

Mysterio eventually joined the World Championship Wrestling, where he wrestled until the company went under. He joined WWE in the year 2002 and instantly became a hit with fans again of all ages. Mysterio has somehow pushed into his fourth decade of wrestling on television and is still one of the best in the world. Legend might not be enough to describe him.

The wrestling world all over is buzzing about this epic announcement.
