WrestleMania might head down south in a few years as long as one city meets a provision.
WWE’s biggest show of the year reportedly will go to Nashville later this decade as long as the stadium has a roof. The Tennessean reported on Monday that WrestleMania will come to Nashville so long as the enclosed roof on the new stadium project is in the plans.
Mike Organ wrote, “WrestleMania is headed to Nashville provided a proposed enclosed stadium is built in the next five years. Butch Spyridon, CEO of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp., had spoken in the past with World Wrestling Entertainment about hosting WrestleMania. … Spyridon received a verbal commitment from WWE to host the 2027 WrestleMania with the provision the stadium is built.”
WWE recently traveled to Nashville for SummerSlam in July at Nissan Stadium. It was a success and now more might come their way.
The team has already hedged on trying to create a new stadium in town. Provided they follow the provision of a roof, WWE will come back to town in 2027.
The roof provision makes sense for all parties involved. Nashville’s climate in the spring obviously is much warmer. Rain and lightning slightly deterred WrestleMania 37 in Tampa in 2021. This appears to indicate they’re doing their best to avoid similar situations.
