WWE’s Bloodline story continues to receive critical acclaim from audiences and reviewers alike. As Roman Reigns, the leader of the dominant faction, heads into WrestleMania 39 this weekend, WWE is likely to turn the page to another chapter in the epic storyline. The longtime voice of the company’s flagship shows is so impressed, he believes WWE should receive serious Emmy consideration.
Michael Cole, who will call yet another WrestleMania this weekend, joined the esteemed Richard Deitsch on his sports media podcast. Cole waxed poetic about the Bloodline storyline and made a call for it to receive consideration for an Emmy Award.
Via WrestlingNews.co, Cole said, “You know, when I made that comment about this story should win an Emmy and I got laughed at by a lot of people, I’ll say it again today on your show that this story deserves an Emmy, or at least a nomination.” He continued on the path, citing the fact that they do episodic television and have the fans on the edge of their seats right now.
“Three years. That’s 52 weeks a year for three years. We have delivered compelling television that hasn’t gotten boring, that has had twists and turns that you can put up against any television show on the planet right now. People to this day come Sunday night still don’t know how this is going to end. They don’t. You can make an argument for both Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes to win that matchup, so we still don’t know how it’s going to end.”
Cole is right that there still is a feeling of imbalance in the air regarding how WrestleMania 39 will conclude. The mega-event will hopefully provide those answers and, for their sake, hopefully, the opportunity for WWE to net the Emmy consideration they desire.
