Former seven-time WWE Champion Bret, ‘The Hitman’ Hart, is in the news on Saturday morning. Not for anything nefarious, though, as The Hitman has gone viral after appearing with a few WWE Friday Night Smackdown superstars.
Smackdown hit Calgary, Alberta, Canada, on Friday night. The famed wrestling town is Hart’s hometown, and while he wasn’t on the show, you don’t have to understand too much wrestling history to know the strong connection there.
Smackdown’s Bayley, WWE’s first-ever Grand Slam women’s champion, posted on her Instagram with The Hitman. Also featured in the picture were Dakota Kai and the new WWE Women’s Champion, IYO SKY, as the trio known as Damage CTRL posed with The Excellence of Execution.
Bayley, Kai, and SKY had a brilliant showing Friday night on Smackdown. The trio interrupted a match between former champion Asuka and former 14-time Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair. They stood tall at the end and flashed their dominance as the new Women’s Champion, IYO, began her reign at the top of the division.
“Excellence of Execution,” Bayley captioned, drawing one of many nicknames out for Bret Hart.
The post quickly went viral as the image was shared numerous times on Twitter. Fans of Damage CTRL were elated to see the trio dominate Friday night and then pose with a wrestling legend in Bret Hart the next day.
