The Indiana Fever are dealing with yet another Caitlin Clark injury this season. The star point guard is dealing with an injured groin, which kept her out of both the WNBA three-point contest as well as the All-Star game.
There was hope that Clark would be able to return Tuesday night against the New York Liberty, but the phenom has since been ruled out, and if that weren’t enough for Fever fans to deal with, the Liberty are getting one of their best players back from injury just in time for Tuesday’s action.
“More good news for the Liberty: 2024 Finals MVP Jonquel Jones is off the injury report and will make her return since re-injuring her ankle on June 19. Caitlin Clark, meanwhile, is officially out,” reported ESPN’s Alexa Philippou on Monday.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Happy for JJ. Sad for my Fever squad. Win or lose, I just want to see them show some fight and teamwork tomorrow night. They’re already underdogs in this one, but that’ll be a major boost of confidence starting the 2nd half of the season. Defense needs to be flawless,” one Fever fan wrote on Twitter.
“Well, tomorrow the most important player on the team returns,” someone else added.
“We’re so back,” a Liberty fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see how long the Liberty are without Clark this time.
