Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy looks up at the scoreboard Saturday, May 17, 2025, during a game between the Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The Indiana Fever defeated the Chicago Sky, 93-58.

Caitlin Clark is back on the hardwood after missing all but 13 games last season with nagging soft tissue injuries. Clark has been effective in her return, although she’s clearly shaking off some rust, evidenced by her recent dip in efficiency from the three-point line.

Still, it’s hard to argue there’s a bigger star in the game than Clark, whose Indiana Fever have all 44 of their regular-season games nationally televised this season. Despite her major star power, the WNBA recently elected not to feature Clark in a graphic promoting the Fever’s game against the Seattle Storm, electing instead to go with Fever rookie Raven Johnson.

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, one of Clark’s most ardent public supporters, took exception to Clark’s absence on the graphic.

“When the face of your league is on a team like Caitlin is with the Fever, you— it’s just a no-brainer. You don’t need— you just pencil in, she’s the graphic,” he said in a video posted to X.

“To go with Raven Johnson, a rookie who averages 1 point a game and does nothing, that is so intentional by whoever did that on the WNBA, who’s running their account. You have to fire them. You are— you are openly saying we hate Caitlin Clark, we hate her fans, we don’t want you.”

It’s certainly an interesting decision for the league not to highlight Clark, but there’s nothing wrong with highlighting some of the games other young talent.
