The Indiana Fever are looking to make a major push for a WNBA title after retooling their roster around phenom Caitlin Clark in the offseason. Through the first four games of the season, Clark has been every bit the dominant player the Fever were expecting her to be.
However, some devastating news has broken that’s going to put a wrench in the Fever’s plans.
“Breaking: Caitlin Clark has suffered a left quad strain and will be out a minimum of two weeks, the Indiana Fever announced. Updates will be available following re-evaluation, the team said,” reported ESPN’s Alexa Philippou on Monday.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Most likely was never fully healed from the preseason,” one fan speculated on Twitter.
“never want this even if I’m a generational hater,” another fan added.
“May not be the issue but when I watch WNBA games I’m always amazed at the MPG of star players, even in blowouts. Clark will play 38 min in close game but even when they’ve won by 30 this year it’s still like 32,” wrote someone else.
“That’s unfortunate for CC. I hope she heals up soon!” added one fan.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Fever stay afloat without the nucleus of its roster.
