Caitlin Clark is one of the most famous and popular athletes on the entire planet right now, male or female. But as she prepares to begin her professional basketball career next month in the WNBA, it sounds like anyone trying to purchase her jersey to support her will have to wait quite a long time after a horrible mistake from Nike and Fanatics.
Nike had a few Caitlin Clark jerseys premade ahead of the WNBA Draft where Clark was selected as the No. 1 overall pick by the Indiana Fever, but those jerseys sold out within two hours of the draft. And now, any new jerseys ordered have an expected delivery date of August – four months from now.
“We are currently sold out of our initial batch of this jersey– if you choose to place a pre-order today, our restock will be available to ship in August, please see details below. Please trust that we are working hard to service your order,” a disclaimer on Fanatics’ website says.
This is a problem because the Indiana Fever’s WNBA regular season begins on May 14 and ends on Sept. 19. If the jerseys don’t ship until August, fans won’t have their jerseys for the majority of the WNBA season.
This is obviously horrible news for Clark and her fans, and people had a lot to say about it on social media.
Of what year

Shameful.

We’ll have to see what happens, but this definitely is not a good look for Nike or Fanatics.
