The Indiana Fever guard is undeniably the biggest star in the WNBA. Since entering the league, Clark has helped propel the league to unprecedented attendance and television viewership numbers.
Unfortunately, Clark may be losing her status as one of the best players in the game if her poor play continues. Popular advanced analytics account Statmuse put some context into just how much Clark has been struggling in her most recent performances.
Fans reacted to the brutal shooting numbers on social media.
“Shooting under 40% from the field and under 30% from 3 for the season but let twitter tell it she’s the best player in the league,” one fan wrote on Twitter. “Not even better than Paige (Bueckers).”
“Whoever at Fever organization told Caitlin Clark to tone it down or about body language needs to get away from CC as far as possible. These people aren’t helping her. They need to let Caitlin be Caitlin. You can see it affects her and she doesn’t seem very happy,” another fan added.
“I think someone advised Caitlin Clark to hold back on her expressions, body language, and passion after the Connecticut Sun game and that has led to a shift in her game style that is not working for her,” one fan speculated.
“She gotta expand her game, she’s very one dimensional,” someone else added.
