WNBA coach upset with Caitlin Clark coverage

The WNBA season hasn’t even started yet and there is already controversy concerning Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark.

Clark has already become one of the most popular players in the league but that hasn’t sat well with everyone. When they were promoting Clark’s debut against the Dallas Wings, Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve had a message for the league and its fans.

While the league and a lot of its fans have embraced Clark, she still faces a lot of backlash from people not happy with the way she has been centered ahead of many veterans.

Of course, Clark is also attracting a ton of eyeballs to the league and sport, so it’s a big trade-off. But it’s understandable why a lot of people who have been laying the groundwork in the WNBA are annoyed to not be the ones at the middle of all this attention.

Clark is indeed going to be the face of the WNBA, at least for a while. Now it’s on the coaches and other players around the league to remind everyone why they should get more attention, too.
