The WNBA is undergoing a period of exponential growth, with news coming out on Monday that the league is expected to expand to 18 teams by the 2028 season. A lot of this growth can be attributed to the arrival of stars such as Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, who has helped propel the league to unprecedented attendance and television ratings numbers.

Clark has been equally impressive on the court, being named an All-Star captain in 2025, just her second season in the league. However, it appears that not all of Clark’s peers are in agreement on just how talented the young sharpshooter is.

The numbers for the All-Star voting were revealed on Monday, and Clark came in at ninth in the player vote.

Fans reacted to the shocking voting patterns on social media.

“We gotta tone down the fan vote moving forward,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Thought they would’ve put Caitlin Clark last even,” one fan added.

“These player rankings are interesting,” someone else added.

“Players weren’t messing with angel,” another fan wrote.

It’ll be interesting if Clark perceives the player voting as a slight and uses it as fuel to hit an even higher level in the second half of this season.
