Caitlin Clark is the hottest name in women’s basketball. In her rookie season, Clark brought record numbers of television viewership and in-game attendance to the WNBA, helping push the league to exponential growth.
It’s not hard to see why people are so excited to watch Clark play, as the flamethrower led the Iowa Hawkeyes to back-to-back national championship appearances before declaring for the WNBA draft.
However, an insane clip has surfaced from Clark’s Iowa days, where she absolutely lit the Hawkeyes’ men’s practice team on fire.
Fans reacted to the incredible footage on social media.
“Don’t get me wrong, I’m impressed, but she’s pulling up from half-court over and over. Let’s see some athleticism, some slashing, handles?” one person wrote on Twitter.
“The incredible thing about this video isn’t some chick making three hail marys in a row. It’s realizing the Iowa men’s practice team is ten white dudes,” one fan added.
“Caitlin’s awesome, but playing with someone that takes kooky shots like this (regardless if they land) is frustrating as heck lol,” another fan added.
“We were told by insecure men that any High school boys team could beat the WNBA champs though,” one fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see how Clark builds on her already immense stardom in the upcoming WNBA season.
