Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark has been dealing with controversy since joining the league, most of which has been as part of conversations and narratives out of her control.
Most of that has died down in recent weeks as Clark has proven that she is good enough to be considered one of the best women’s basketball players in the world.
Still, some say that Clark has been discriminated against and even her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, has been caught up in some of the hype as well.
Those folks might not like to know that McCaffery has thrown his support for president behind Vice President Kamala Harris.
The former Iowa Hawkeyes men’s basketball star made his intentions known on Instagram recently.McCaffery posted a video from the Harris campaign showing his support for her.
Clark made it very clear back in June that she does not want her name to be used to justify racist or misogynic ideology.
“People should not be using my name to push those agendas. It’s disappointing. It’s not acceptable,” Clark said. “… Treating every single woman in this league with the same amount of respect, I think, it’s just a basic human thing that everybody should do.”
It will be interesting to see if Clark is willing to voice her political opinion or remain silent.
