As Brittney Griner returns to the basketball court after spending the last WNBA season in Russian custody, the Phoenix Mercury is debuting a new campaign for their 2023 WNBA season: Valley Together.

“Reunited with Griner and celebrating her return to the floor with a roster retooled around teamwork, Valley Together celebrates the Mercury’s embrace of its fanbase and connection to the Valley community,” the Mercury said in a release, according to the Arizona Republic.

The team announced the new campaign with a new video voiced by both Charelle and Brittney Griner.

“The Valley is about sticking together when times are tough, staying together to reach the mountain top and being back together after too long apart,” Cherelle Griner says in the video.

“And together means all of us,” Brittney Griner adds in the video. “No matter where you are from, how you look or who you love. We show up for you like you show up for us. Your fight is our fight and our victory is your victory.”

It’s a powerful message, and the sports world had plenty to say about it on social media.

It’s safe to say that Brittney Griner and the Mercury are ready for the upcoming season.
