The WNBA has exploded in popularity since the arrival of Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese and Indiana Fever point guard Caitlin Clark in the 2024 draft. The pair has helped propel the league to unprecedented numbers in television viewership and game attendance.
However, the professional careers for the two have not gone the same way on the floor. Clark’s Fever have made the playoffs in each of their first two seasons in the league, while the Sky have yet to make the playoffs since Reese joined the organization.
It looks as if all of the losing is taking its toll on Reese.
“Angel Reese, 2 other Chicago Sky stars skip out on media exit interviews,” reported Awful Announcing.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“The Sky should move on from her. Other than rebounding she does nothing for the team,is a drain on them & gives them so much negative press,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“She’s also delusuional with the ;pay us what you owe us;’ bs! For a league that survives because of NBA subsidies even with the VERY recent Caitlin Clark $ & notoriety infusion these women are fooling themselves with what they THINK they should be paid!” someone else added
“She’s such a clown. Always running her mouth but push comes to shove, she can’t take it. Loser behavior,” another person added.
It’ll be interesting to see if Reese sticks with the Sky or tries to force her way to a new organization.
