WNBA superstar Sabrina Ionescu just put on a record-shattering performance. The New York Liberty sensation looked like a flamethrower in the WNBA 3-Point Contest as All-Star Weekend festivities continue in Las Vegas.
Ionescu dazzled the world as she sped through the contest’s final round. She did so while making every single shot she took! The former Oregon star didn’t miss until the last ball on the penultimate rack. Ionescu finished with just two misses and a whopping 37 points. That sets an all-time mark for both the WNBA and the NBA 3-Point Contests. And obviously, her historic performance vaulted her to becoming the 2023 3-Point Contest Champion.
The video of the absurd display is even better than just reading about it.
Ionescu’s performance quickly made headlines around the world. Twitter went crazy over it as hundreds of quote tweets of the WNBA’s tweet emerged. Several others shared the post and generated reactions from all over.
Many were left in disbelief.
Another made a comparison to NBA great Larry Bird.
Ionescu’s performance left some jaws on the floor.
Another user wished the performance could have been aired in primetime.
Ionescu herself reacted to her historic performance. “I wasn’t sure how many I missed, but I knew it wasn’t a lot,” the superstar said.
