Orlando police arrested pro wrestler Cash Wheeler on Friday morning on a charge of aggravated assault with a firearm. The Orlando Sentinel were the first to report the news on the arrest.
“Daniel Wheeler, a tag-team champion in All Elite Wrestling, was arrested Friday morning by the Orlando Police Department and charged with one count of aggravated assault with a firearm,” the Orlando Sentinel wrote. “He was booked in Circuit Court, according to county records.” No other details on the arrest or the story behind the arrest have been made available yet by the Orlando Police Department.
AEW released a statement shortly after news on the arrest emerged. Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp provided that statement.
“AEW has been made aware of the charge, and we are closely monitoring the situation. He is fully cooperating with local authorities,” the statement read.
Wheeler, 36, is a member of the All Elite Wrestling roster. Real name Daniel Wheeler, he is one-half of the AEW Tag Team Champions with his longtime friend and tag team partner, Dax Harwood. Prior to arriving in AEW, the two made a name for themselves in the Carolinas and then in WWE. They are currently scheduled to wrestle against Matt and Nick Jackson at AEW’s ALL IN event at Wembley Stadium in London, England, on August 27, 2023.
