It’s been “twenty years” since Charles Barkley made it to Minnesota. And now, he “brought his a**” up to the Land of 10,000 Lakes.
Barkley and the rest of the NBA on TNT crew will call the Western Conference Finals between the T’Wolves and the Dallas Mavericks. So when Barkley conversed with Minnesota star Anthony Edwards, and Barkley said he hadn’t been there in two decades, Edwards emphatically told him to bring his butt up there.
He said something else, but you get the idea.
On Tuesday, ahead of the 2024 Western Conference Finals, Barkley arrived in Minnesota. An X user found him and posted online.
Amy Mauzy, a member of the Minnesota Twins’ guest services team according to her X bio, found Barkley and gleefully posted. The post got significant amounts of attention online shortly after. And funnily enough, Mauzy had posted an old picture with Barkley just a few days ago.
Mauzy later commented on the post, calling Barkley “the best.”
Sometimes, it’s awfully funny to see how things play out. And we’ll ignore the fact that Barkley attended the 2019 Final Four and National Championship Game as part of TBS’ coverage of the event, which took place in… ope, Minnesota.
