Serena Williams made a significant announcement on the red carpet Monday night at the Met Gala. The world-renowned legendary tennis star showed off her new baby bump for the world to see. The icon and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, later confirmed the pregnancy on social media.
Williams posted a picture with a baby bump with the caption:
“Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala,” she said.
This will be the couple’s second child, who welcomed daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. in September 2017. Williams retired from tennis last year after the US Open.
At the time of her announcement, she said:
“I’m here to tell you that I’m evolving away from tennis toward other things that are important to me,” she said. “A few years ago, I quietly started Serena Ventures, a venture capital firm. Soon after that, I started a family. I want to grow that family.”
Naturally, fans worldwide were thrilled when they heard the news and wished the couple well.

As you can tell, most people were excited to hear the good news about the tennis star’s pregnancy. After having her first child, Serena Williams suffered several complications that almost killed her. She seems to be past her health issues and that’s wonderful news. Congratulations to her and her family.
So happy for #SerenaWilliams and her partner. She's been longing for a playmate/sibling for their daughter, and now she's blessed with one, or two… or#Blessings pic.twitter.com/O8v6KsmeGc
