The United States Women’s National Team suffered a crushing loss on Sunday when they fell to Sweden in a penalty kick shootout, ending their run through the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. A big reason why was a brutal miss from superstar Megan Rapinoe in the shootout, and former United States President Donald Trump was quick to call her out for it.
On Sunday afternoon, Donald Trump shared a message on Truth Social where he took a pretty brutal dig at Megan Rapinoe as he blasted the entire team.
“The ‘shocking and totally unexpected’ loss by the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team to Sweden is fully emblematic of what is happening to the our once great Nation under Crooked Joe Biden. Many of our players were openly hostile to America – No other country behaved in such a manner, or even close. WOKE EQUALS FAILURE. Nice shot Megan, the USA is going to Hell!!! MAGA,” Trump said in his post, which has not been altered to correct his grammatical mistakes.
Rapinoe has drawn criticism from Trump and other conservatives due to her outspoken support of the LGBTQ community, equal pay for women, and her decision to kneel during the national anthem back in 2016.
It’s clear that Trump was easily offended by Rapinoe and is still not over it.
