Two-year-old race horse “Bold and Bossy” had no interest in participating in the first race at Ellis Park on Saturday in Kentucky, and so she bucked her jockey and ran away- onto the highway.

Bold and Bossy went for a run on Highway 41, and folks in traffic provided video evidence of the bizarre situation:

Posey County Sheriff Tom Latham was able to stop the horse on the highway, according to 14 News.

Posey County Sheriff Tom Latham, who happened to be in the area, says he spotted the horse running. It was at this point when the sheriff says he got up in front of it, parked his truck and jumped a guardrail to get to her.

He says he grabbed the lead and tried to calm the horse down.

Bold and Bossy came out of the adventure with an injured left leg, but she’s “doing well.”
