NASCAR will open an investigation after an incident at North Wilkesboro Speedway on Sunday involving driver Bubba Wallace.
A currently unidentified individual managed to phone his way into Wallace’s racing team’s radio channel, according to MotorSport.com. The motorsports website said that the perpetrator left a derogatory message that NASCAR officials will investigate.
Furthermore, according to MotorSport.com, “Just after Wallace took the checkered flag and finished as runner-up to Kyle Larson in the $1 million-to-the-winner event at North Wilkesboro (N.C.) Speedway, someone keyed into his No. 23 23XI Racing team radio channel with a derogatory message.”
The message said, “Go back to where you came from, you *******. You’re not wanted in NASCAR.”
A spokesperson for the motorsports website said, “Wallace, the only full-time driver in NASCAR’s premier series, did not hear the comments or acknowledge them at the time.”
The renowned racing series will investigate how someone was able to access the channel and also who it was that accessed the track. Currently, the person who committed the disgusting racist act is still unknown.
Unfortunately, Bubba Wallace and his runner-up finish at the event at North Wilkesboro Speedway took a backseat due to an evil and rotten apple. You have to hope that NASCAR can adequately find the perpetrator and that they’re punished for such a despicable act.
