In the wake of the Supreme Court voting to overturn Roe v. Wade, Rex Chapman has tweeted a slew of racially charged comments about Justice Clarence Thomas, who is Black.
Chapman began his attack by sharing four photos of Thomas and Republican Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron standing alongside their white spouses.

The former NBA player later continued his Twitter tirade by blasting Thomas for attending a college graduation in 2018 that was comprised of mostly white students. “Not another person of color in the picture…,” tweeted Chapman. “Such a champion. Lol.”

Chapman also felt the need to call out Thomas for never having been seen at a pro basketball game, claiming the Supreme Court Justice wouldn’t last “20-30 seconds in an NBA locker room.” The former NBA player made sure to note Bill Clinton, who is no political angel, used to attend games when Chapman played for the Washington Bullets. Cue the applause.

The part of Chapman’s thread that drew the most criticism may have occurred when one of his Twitter followers compared Thomas to Clayton Bigsby, a character from a Dave Chappelle skit. The fictional character was a white supremacist who didn’t know he was Black because he was blind. Chapman replied to and seemingly agreed with the comparison of Thomas being a Black white supremacist by sharing a Clayton Bigsby clip from Chappelle Show.

A former college basketball star, NBA player, and CNN+ host, Chapman has rebranded himself as a social media influencer for sharing positivity on Twitter in recent years, but his attack on Thomas drew plenty of social media criticism.
