Longtime UFC commentator Joe Rogan has previously been outspoken about his support for United States President Donald Trump, even endorsing him in the 2024 presidential election. However, he has definitely broken ranks with Trump when it comes to the recent war with Iran.
During a recent episode of his podcast, Rogan expressed his displeasure with Trump’s decision to go to war with Iran.
“It just seems so insane based on what he ran on. I mean, this is why a lot of people feel betrayed. He ran on no more wars and these stupid, senseless wars. And then we have one that we can’t even really clearly define why we did it,” Rogan said on a recent episode of his Joe Rogan Experience podcast.
Rogan went as far as to suggest that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may have played a role in the decision.
“Why did we do it? I don’t know. I think because of Israel, if I had to guess,” Rogan said last week. “Netanyahu kept visiting the White House. You think it’s a coincidence? Netanyahu keeps visiting the White House. And then eventually they decide to give in and start bombing.”
“How do you get out of this, and then what does the exit look like? Do we have troops over there forever now?” Rogan questioned.
During the most recent episode of the podcast, Rogan went on to express his concern that Iran could “nuke” New York City in retaliation.
“What we did to Iran, what if Iran nukes New York City? Those kids that live in the Bronx, they had nothing to do with what happened in Iran. So is that okay? What are we talking about? It’s [freaking] nuts,” Rogan said on his podcast.
This is not the first time that Rogan has expressed his frustration with the war, and it’s unlikely to be the last.
