Jill Biden, the First Lady of the United States, is a well-known lover of Philadelphia sports teams.
However, her presence at recent championship games has drawn the ire of at least one Philadelphia sports fan—ex-MLB star Lenny Dykstra.
Dykstra first blamed Biden for the Phillies’ performance against the Houston Astros in the 2022 World Series.
“Better luck next time, Phillies. Might be better off rolling out that red carpet for Lenny Dykstra instead of Dr. Jill Biden. (9 hits in 3 games since she showed up),” Dykstra tweeted at the time.
And even though the Philadelphia 76ers swept the Brooklyn Nets in the opening round of the 2023 NBA playoffs, Dykstra remains concerned that Biden (seen above during a 2021 speech) will once again appear in the stands and doom the local team to a loss, like when the Philadelphia Eagles lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl.
“Congratulations to the Sixers on sweeping the Nets in the first round. Hopefully it won’t get all [messed] up in the Finals, like with the Phillies and Eagles, by the curse of DOCTOR Jill Biden showing up,” Dykstra tweeted.
Dykstra played eight seasons with the Phillies during his MLB career. He is a three-time All-Star, a World Champion, and a Silver Slugger winner.
