Herschel Walker, the Republican candidate for Senate in Georgia, faces incumbent Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock in the most bruising election of the 2022 midterm election cycle.
The latest polling shows Walker and Warnock in a statistical dead heat entering the campaign’s final days. Betting markets, however, predict a decisive Warnock victory.
Election Betting Odds, an election tracker that culls from various betting markets, gives Warnock an 89.5 percent chance to win the election compared to Walker’s 10.5 percent.
Other oddsmakers like PredictIt and Polymarket both give Warnock an 89% chance to win the election. Smarkets, by contrast, gives Warnock a 92.6% chance to win the election.
Warnock and Walker advanced to a head-to-head runoff election required by state law when neither candidate earned 50 percent of the vote in the Nov. 8th election. Warnock has enjoyed a considerable fundraising advantage over Walker, who has weathered several new scandals in recent weeks.
Both sides have spent more than a combined $241 million on the race. Former president Barack Obama has campaigned with Warnock, while former president Donald Trump, like current president Joe Biden, has chosen not to personally campaign with their party’s respective candidate.
Georgia voters head to the polls on Dec. 8th. Democrats have already retained control of the Senate.
