The past several months have been quite controversial for former Georgia Bulldogs star running back Herschel Walker as he runs for the state’s Senate seat against incumbent Raphael Warnock. During his campaign, Walker stirred controversy by blatantly lying on multiple occasions, flashing a fake police badge during a debate, and disrespecting people with a chronic disease. The pro-life candidate has also been accused by multiple women of pressuring them to get abortions after getting them pregnant.
However, it seems that none of those things have hurt him in the polls.
On Wednesday, the Moore Information Group published an internal poll for the Walker campaign revealing that Herschel Walker holds a four-point lead over Warnock in the Georgia Senate race.
While this poll is certainly optimistic about Walker’s chances against Warnock in November’s election, the Palmer Report, which specializes in policial analysis, has quite a different opinion about the numbers.
“Herschel Walker, who has been steadily behind in the polling averages throughout the entire election cycle, is now releasing an internal poll that supposedly shows him ahead by 4 points. It’s a desperate stunt to convince donors that he’s still in it. Ignore it, keep working,” the Palmer Report said. “More to the point, if any major media outlet or pundit tries to present this internal Walker poll as legitimate evidence that Walker has supposedly pulled ahead, that’s a pundit you can safely never listen to again. Hopefully no one will even go there on something this laughable.”
Walker has been the source of a lot of controversy the past several weeks for a variety of reasons including his apparent hate for trees and belief that there are 51 states. We’ll see if that ultimately hurts him in the election.
