On Tuesday morning, the sports world was hit with some pretty terrifying news when it was revealed that Bronny James – the son of NBA megastar LeBron James – had to be rushed to the hospital by ambulance when he went into sudden cardiac arrest during a workout with the USC Trojans. And unfortunately, Elon Musk wasted no time using the situation to push a conspiracy theory.
Shortly after the news broke about the terrifying Bronny James medical situation, billionaire Twitter CEO Elon Musk took to social media and replied to a tweet and claimed that it was reasonable to ascribe James’ cardiac arrest to the COVID-19 vaccine.
“We cannot ascribe everything to the vaccine, but, by the same token, we cannot ascribe nothing. Myocarditis is a known side-effect. The only question is whether it is rare or common,” Musk said in a tweet.
Musk, of course, has no knowledge of Bronny’s specific medical situation or even his vaccine status, but he was certainly willing to speculate anyway.
As for Bronny James, his family released a statement from a spokesperson announcing that he was recovering and undergoing tests but was “in stable condition and no longer in the ICU” as he continues to recover.
