Former United States President Donald Trump has been more and more active within the sports world, recently appearing at UFC 290 earlier this month. As he prepares for the 2024 election, he reportedly plans to appear on a number of “non-traditional” media platforms, which may include famed pro boxer Mike Tyson.
Tyson is obviously known to most for his abilities in the ring during his boxing career, but he is now also known as a podcast host for a YouTube podcast called ‘Hotboxin‘.
According to Politico, Trump’s campaign over the past several months has been quietly engaged in behind-the-scenes talks for a sit-down interview with Tyson on his podcast.
Tyson has had a number of prominent guests on the podcast, including retired skateboarder Tony Hawk and comedian Cedric the Entertainer amongst many others.
Trump would obviously be the biggest guest to date, and many are certainly eager to see this potential interview if it does end up happening.

Andy Surabian, a Republican strategist and advisor to Donald Trump Jr. spoke about this decision to appear on more non-traditional media outlets like Tyson’s podcast, saying that it gives Trump a chance to “put himself in front of people who are far less engaged politically”.
“Doing non-traditional media and showing up to major cultural events like UFC fights allows former President Trump to hit a completely different audience than doing an interview on Fox News or other political media,” said Surabian. “He’s putting himself in front of people who are far less politically engaged and don’t necessarily have a baked in view of him.”
