Former United States President Donald Trump has made it very clear that he does not support transgender women and girls competing in sports according to their gender identity, but he took his stance a step further this week when he mocked transgender athletes by claiming that he could be a successful basketball coach by asking NBA players to transition into women.
During a recent campaign speech, Donald Trump made a joke mocking transgender athletes, jokingly claiming that he would like to convince NBA megastar LeBron James to transition into a woman and lead a transgender basketball team which he claims would be “the greatest basketball team in history.”
“I would like to meet with LeBron and say ‘LeBron, I would like to get out of the presidential business, get out of the real estate business. I’m going to become a basketball coach of women,'” Trump said. “And I’m going to get him and four or five other guys to transition.”
“And we are going to have the greatest basketball team in history. We will be undefeated forever. We will make the legendary John Wooden into just a little asterisk,” Trump continued.
Trump has also made it clear that he wants to ban “transgender insanity” from schools, which presumably means banning transgender athletes from schools.
