Over the past few months, Brett Favre has been the source of a lot of media attention due to his alleged involvement in a welfare scandal that sought to take money from Mississippi’s poorest residents and relocate it elsewhere. But this week, Favre had a pretty bold message to anyone thinking of watching or reading any of those news reports: don’t.
This week, Brett Favre went on Donald Trump Jr.’s podcast “Triggered” where he talked about a number of things ranging from his NFL career to his politics. During the interview, Favre claimed that “the left” controls the narrative of the news, and that there is a “huge agenda.”
“If you’re watching the news, depending on who you’re watching, 99.9% of the news is the left. So there’s a huge agenda,” Favre said on the podcast. “They control the narrative.”
As a result of this belief that “the left” controls all the news media, Favre had a pretty bold suggestion: don’t watch or read any of it.
“The best way to squash that is don’t watch it – don’t listen,” Favre said.
Obviously, this is pretty bold coming from someone who has been the subject of hundreds of unsavory news headlines over the past few months, and the sports world was absolutely furious with him as a result.

It’s safe to say most people won’t be taking his advice anytime soon.
