New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers recently seemed to throw his support behind Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. as he announced that he will run for President of the United States in the 2024 election.
In some corners, one of the loudest issues in the American political world right now is not the overwhelming deluge of gun violence that plagues the nation but concerns over whether or not transgender athletes should be able to compete against athletes of their chosen sex.
Kennedy has made it abundantly clear that he opposes transgender women competing against other women in athletics.
“I am against people participating in women’s sports who are biologically male,” Kennedy Jr., who is running as a Democratic presidential candidate, said. “I think women have worked too hard to develop women’s sports over the past 30 years. I watched it happen, and I don’t think that’s fair.”
Kennedy, who is one of the leading political voices against COVID-19 vaccines, appears to be out of step with the major focus points of the Democratic Party. It has also been reported that Donald Trump associate Steve Bannon “spent months” recruiting the anti-vaxxer to run for President only to muddy the waters for incumbent Joe Biden during the primaries.
A few weeks ago, Rodgers seemed to endorse RFK, Jr. with an Instagram Story in which he promoted vaccine skeptic Aubrey Marcus’ podcast interview with Kennedy.
