The Kansas City Chiefs are hoping to bounce back in a major way following an extremely disappointing 2025 season that saw them miss the playoffs. However, there are still some major question marks hanging over the franchise.

One has to do with the recovery timeline of star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who went down late in the season with an ACL injury. The other has to do with standout tight end Travis Kelce, who is contemplating his potential retirement.

However, even as he mulls over stepping away from the game, Kelce has been revealed to have a shocking tie to an important tie to a special moment in black history.

Kelce donated $10,00 0 to help Laila Edwards’s grandma fly to Milan, where she watched her granddaughter become the first Black American to win Olympic gold in hockey.

Fans reacted to the awesome contribution on social media.

“Hoping the Kelce brothers will be there for the las Vegas celebration!” one person wrote on Twitter.

“I believe it was both Kelce brothers that raised/donated the money,” someone else added.

“When in doubt, be kind … like the Kelce bros,” another person added.

It’s awesome to see Kelce step up in such a major way for such a major moment.
