During Sunday’s loss to the Indianapolis Colts, Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Will Levis could be seen giving some heated words to wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins after the two failed to connect on a deep ball in the first quarter. But Levis downplayed the interaction after the game.
During a press conference this week, Will Levis admitted that he “definitely would have handled it differently” if he had to go through the situation again.
“Maybe I forgot I was on TV,” Levis said during his Wednesday press conference according to Jim Wyatt of the team’s website. “Just one of those things that just happened. If I would’ve gone back, I would’ve been more neutral about it, for sure. But that’s just part of the things about being an NFL quarterback and learning along the way of how to be a leader and how to get your guys going. Definitely would’ve handled it differently if I would’ve done it again.”
It’s worth noting that Hopkins ultimately finished the game with five catches for 75 yards, which also included a game-tying touchdown in the fourth quarter, so it’s pretty clear that the two found their rhythm and were able to move the ball the rest of the game.
