The Miami Dolphins are having a rough go of things this season. Miami is 1-4, and somehow things still seem to be trending downward for the organization. Star wide receiver Tyreek Hill is out for the season after suffering a gruesome knee injury, and Tua Tagovailoa appears to have bigger priorities than getting the train back on the tracks, as he recently referenced going home to his family as why he’s not overly concerned with criticisms he may have earned with poor play so far this season.
The Dolphins came into the season confident that if Tagovailoa was healthy and could avoid the scary injuries that have plagued him throughout his career, they’d be able to course correct and make a return to the playoffs.
While Tua had been healthy, the Dolphins were still among the league’s worst teams through the first five weeks of the season, and now the quarterback has found his way onto the injury report.
“Omar Kelly of the Miami Herald has seen it, and it shows quarterback Tua Tagovailoa as having two injuries: hip and thumb. Tagovailoa per the report was limited,” reported Pro Football Talk.
Fans reacted to the brutal injuries on social media.
“What a shock! Our fragile QB has injuries. I would like to see what Wilson can do,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“So they’re benching him,” another fan predicted.
“It’s only a matter of time before Wilson takes over. Better sooner than later,” someone else wrote.
It’ll be interesting to see where things go from here for Tagovailoa.
