It’s unlikely that having rookie running back Travis Etienne all season would have changed the trajectory of the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, it does make a lot of people wonder what could have been for the Clemson product, including Etienne himself.
The rookie missed his entire first NFL season after suffering a season-ending Lisfranc injury in the preseason. The good news is that Etienne is on the mend following surgery and should be back to compete for next season when the Jaguars hope to improve on their 3-14 campaign. For his part, Etienne says he’ll be ready come training camp time in July.
“I definitely feel like as of now I’ll be ready,” Etienne said via John Reid of The Florida Times-Union. “I’m ready to go. The next milestone for me is to get back doing weightlifting, like squats and stuff like that. I haven’t really been squatting because it is a Lisfranc injury, and it was in the bottom of the foot.”
