The Cleveland Browns have a loaded quarterback room. Last year’s Week One starter, Deshaun Watson, had his season cut short with a ruptured Achilles before suffering a setback in his recovery that put his entire 2025 season in jeopardy.
The Browns responded by trading for Kenny Pickett, signing Joe Flacco, and drafting two rookies, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders. Now, the Browns have made their final decision on which of the four quarterbacks has a legitimate shot to be the starter when the regular season arrives.
“You can see them all winning the job, I think, right?” Offensive coordinator Tommy Rees said on Wednesday, according to Pro Football Talk.
“And so in terms of the competition, we’re so early in the process. We’re so early in evaluating that. Yeah, I think, you know, we have a good group of guys that continue to push one another, and by the time September rolls around, we’ll be ready to go.”
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Many say Qb is the most important position in sports. Having 4 must mean that the team’s leadership is top notch,” one fan wrote sarcastically on Twitter.
“If you have two quarterbacks, you have none. If you have five quarterbacks, you’re the Browns,” another fan added.
“Browns should introduce the quadruple QB strategy, different QB for each quarter,” one fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see who wins the job.
