The NFL may never see another quarterback as successful as Tom Brady was over his storied career again. Brady won a record seven Super Bowls as the starting quarterback for the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Many fans have been stuck comparing this generation’s quarterbacks to Brady, with many seeing Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes as his successor. However, it would appear as if fans will be able to see Brady take the field, as he is coming out of retirement to take the field again, according to one insider around the league.
“Tom Brady is coming out of retirement, sort of, to join Saquon Barkley, Christian McCaffrey, CeeDee Lamb, Maxx Crosby, Rob Gronkowski, Sauce Gardner Myles Garrett and others for the Fanatics Flag Football Classic – a competitive flag football tournament taking place during Riyadh Season in Saudi Arabia on March 21, 2026. It will be Brady’s first football action since retiring three years ago. Pete Carroll, Sean Payton and Kyle Shanahan will be coaching the three teams,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Monday.
Fans reacted to the shocking news on social media.
“Tom Brady back on the field… kind of. This lineup is stacked and the coaches are legends, flag football just got epic!” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“There aren’t words to express how little I care about this,” someone else added.
“Bengals should be offering him 100 million this year to come throw the ball to Chase and Higgins!” one fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if Brady still has the touch that won him seven Super Bowl rings.
