Tom Brady has been in the news on Thursday, as the legendary quarterback made sure to let everyone know that, no, he isn’t plotting a return to the league. The seven-time Super Bowl Champion went on SportsCenter on Thursday to discuss that hot topic as rumors swirled that he could plot a return to the Las Vegas Raiders, who Brady recently bought a minority ownership stake in. But Brady also talked about his looming return to Foxborough and Gillette Stadium.
Brady left the New England Patriots in the 2019-20 off-season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brady and the Bucs found success right away as they won Super Bowl LV at their home site of Raymond James Stadium. Owner Robert Kraft set up Brady’s return to New England, as the team plans on honoring him this coming season.
Brady told ESPN, via NFL.com, “It was such a kind gesture by RKK, who I’ve been in touch with since the season ended. We’ve always had a great relationship.”
Brady added that Kraft believed that Patriot fans would “really enjoy” seeing the legendary quarterback again. “Obviously, I want to go back there and see the fans,” Brady said via NFL.com.
“To be able to go back there in a different frame of mind, a less competitive frame of mind, and I’m always pulling for the Patriots. It’s been a great organization. I’ve got so many friends there still. My kids were born in Boston. I have so many incredible memories of my time there, and it’s a great gesture by the organization.”
Patriots fans are probably happy to give off their limbs for Tom Brady, so it’ll be no surprise when he’s given a hero’s embrace when he returns to Gillette Stadium.
