When future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers went down with an absolutely devastating season-ending Achilles injury on just the fourth play of his debut with the New York Jets, it did not take long for fans to suggest that the Jets could replace him with another future Hall of Famer in Tom Brady. But according to one of Brady’s former teammates, that’s not going to happen.

During a recent appearance on WEEI’s The Greg Hill Show, former New England Patriots cornerback Ty Law – a former teammate of Brady in New England – shut down any speculation that Brady could come out of retirement once again to play for the Jets.

“Absolutely not,” Law said definitively.

“And I know Tom, he keeps himself in great shape,” Law added. “They’ve got something out there called the TB12 method. He is not coming back to play football and I don’t think that he’ll go to the Jets.”

It’s a pretty firm declaration, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it on social media this week.

It would certainly be interesting if he did decide to return to the league and play with the Jets considering that they are division rivals with the New England Patriots. But it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen.
