Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady and his wife, supermodel Gisele Bündchen, are filing a divorce settlement ending their 13-year marriage.
TMZ first reported the news, saying that the divorce documents will formally be filed Friday in Florida.
The news continues a string of bad news for the future Hall of Fame quarterback. Brady is fresh off a 27-22 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football. The loss marked the worst start of Brady’s career at 3-5. He also replaced Pittsburgh Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger as the most-sacked quarterback in NFL history.
Sources told TMZ that the couple’s lawyers worked with a mediator to “hammer out both property settlement and custody.” The couple has “come to terms” that satisfy both parties.
TMZ sources called the document “short,” and said the lawyers had been working on it since September.
Brady has been spending the time away from his wife losing football games, while Bündchen has chosen to live in Miami and visit a “spiritual healer” while weathering a divorce that media reports had described as “very nasty.”
Neither Brady or Bündchen have yet to officially comment on their divorce.
Brady and the Buccaneers are next in action Nov. 6th when they host the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Los Angeles Rams.
