Last week, Tom Brady announced that he’ll be retiring from the NFL, leading many to wonder when he will begin the broadcasting deal he signed with Fox Sports. And now we have an answer.
During an interview with Colin Cowherd on Monday afternoon, Tom Brady revealed that he will begin his broadcasting career with Fox in the fall of 2024 – not immediately this upcoming NFL season.
“I think for me, I want to be great at what I do. Talking, even last week with the people at Fox Sports and hotel leadership there, allowing me to start my Fox opportunity in the fall of 2024 – something that’s great for me,” Brady said. “Take some time to really learn, become great at what I want to do, become great at thinking about the opportunity and making sure I’m not rushing into anything.”
Brady believes the year off will help him.
“I think when people really bet on me, whether it was when I was drafted by the Patriots or when I was singing from free agency with the Bucs, I wanted to be fully committed and I never wanted to let people down – I think my biggest motivator was that,” Brady said. “Even in the future, I want to be great at what I do. And that always takes some time and strategizing and learning and growing and evolving. And I have so many people to rely on that can support me in that growth too.”
It’s huge news, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it.
Brady believes that this move will help set him up for his career at Fox, but also “catching up” on some other parts of his life that “need some time and energy.”
