This upcoming season will be the 23rd season in the terrific career of Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, and the Bucs will have to overcome some huge questions if the organization wants to make it a successful year for the 45-year-old quarterback.
The team’s offensive line has been ravaged due to injuries this offseason, with key injuries to Pro Bowl center Ryan Jensen and left guard Aaron Stinnie along with the retirement of longtime guard Ali Marpet this offseason.
Brady seems to know that there are question marks on his offensive line heading into the season, but he offered some words of encouragement to some of the inexperienced players on the Buccaneers’ offensive line during an interview on the Let’s Go podcast with Jim Gray on SiriusXM.
“I hope they take it to heart, all the things that people have said about them, which is, you know, not always the most flattering things,” said Brady on Monday. “But they got to go out there and they got to, again, like all of us, we got to go out there and earn it and prove people right or prove them wrong.”
The team currently has two players listed as their opening days starters on the offensive line that have not seen a single snap of NFL action in their career with rookie left guard Luke Goedeke and center Robert Hainsey.
Brady is obviously a player that was once overlooked and doubted in his career, coming into the NFL as a sixth-round pick out of Michigan in 2000 with very little promise.
He has pulled off great things without a great offensive line before, but it will certainly be something to monitor as the Buccaneers get ready for their season-opening game against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night.
