The Tennesse Titans selected quarterback Cam Ward with the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft. The hope was that Ward would be the long-term answer for the Titans at the quarterback position.
Unfortunately, Ward’s rookie season has been a disaster to this point. The Titans are 1-7 on the year, tied for the worst record in the league. Ward has struggled mightily through his first eight NFL games.
Now, the Titans are making a trade that would indicate they’re still rebuilding, rather than turning things around under Ward the way the franchise hoped.
“Trade: Titans are sending CB Roger McCreary to the Rams for a conditional 5th/6th round pick swap, per sources. Conditions: Titans get 5th-round pick closer to the beginning of the round, which most likely be Titans original 5th round pick. Rams receive the 6th-round pick that is closet to the end of the round. Titans currently have three 6th-round picks,” reported ESPN’s senior NFL insider Adam Schefter.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“I’ve just never seen such in my life. Titans front office has literally created a need that wasn’t there at CB…for what? A couple pick swaps? Clown show,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Titans that guy in your league that every champion traded with to stack their roster,” another fan added.
“It’s important to this team that they have zero good cornerbacks on the roster,” one fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see how the trade pans out for the Titans.
