NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon, left, poses for pictures with Cam Ward who earlier had been introduced as the Tennessee Titans first-round pick – and overall number one pick – in the NFL Draft at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park in Nashville, Tenn., Friday, April 25, 2025. Moon, whose No. 1 jersey is retired for the Tennessee Titans, allowed Ward to wear his number.

The Tennessee Titans had the first overall selection in the 2025 NFL draft. Tennessee used that pick on a quarterback, despite quarterback Will Levis, the incumbent starter and former draft pick himself, being on the roster.

This go-around, the Titans selected former Miami Hurricanes star Cam Ward. Unfortunately, things have been a disaster for Ward. The Titans are currently tied with the New Orleans Saints and the New York Jets for the worst record in the league at 1-7.

Now, Tennessee is making another trade in an attempt to get more even draft capital, according to one prominent league insider.

“Trade: Titans are sending CB Roger McCreary to the Rams for a conditional 5th/6th round pick swap, per sources. Conditions: Titans get 5th-round pick closer to the beginning of the round, which most likely be Titans original 5th round pick. Rams receive the 6th-round pick that is closest to the end of the round. Titans currently have three 6th-round picks,” reported ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Fans reacted to the trade on social media.

“With Ahkello Witherspoon (broken collarbone) on the IR for the foreseeable future, this is a big get for LA,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“And there are still Titans fans that think they should keep big Jeff for two more seasons, instead of trade him to speed up their rebuild. I hate everything about being a Titan fan,” someone else added.

“I officially hate being a Titans fan this year. Even while on vacation in the Bahamas they find a way to ruin my day,” someone else added.

It’ll be interesting to see what the pick swap is worth by the time the 2026 draft arrives.
