Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward (1) warms up before the game against the Indianapolis Colts at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., Sunday, Sept. 21, 2025.

The Tennessee Titans have not had the start to the season that the franchise imagined when it selected former Miami Hurricanes star Cam Ward with the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft.

Ward and the Titans’ offense have yet to find a rhythm, with things going so poorly that a major coaching change has already been made in the wake of the team’s 0-3 start to the season.

“A significant development for the #Titans: Coach Brian Callahan is handing off the play-calling duties to QBs coach Bo Hardegree,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported.

However, Hardegree may have a rougher go of things than he expected in his playcalling debut, as Ward’s health has been thrown into doubt, according to Rapoport.

Titans QB Cam ward (ankle/calf) was limited in today’s practice,” he reported.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“CAN WE GET ANY GOOD NEWS??????” one Titans fan posted into the void on Twitter.

“Great. Calf injury + turf = goodbye Achilles,” another fan added.

“I just heard all of Tennessee cry in anguish,” someone else added.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Titans’ offense looks if Ward can’t go on Sunday. If the Titans make the decision to move on from Callahan mid-season, it’ll be the second straight season where a number one overall quarterback has had to endure losing his head coach in the middle of the campaign, after the Chicago Bears drafted Caleb Williams and fired Matt Eberflus last year.
