In a dominating performance, the Buffalo Bills just flat out embarrassed Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots. The Bills were hitting on all cylinders offensively and defensively, as the defense nabbed two interceptions and Josh Allen went 21/25 for 308 passing yards in the 47-17 victory.
That’s great and all but let’s face it, blowouts happen. A 30 point victory against the Patriots is impressive and rare but teams get blown out. Even in the playoffs, where the best of the best are playing, teams get blown out. But there was one thing that the Bills did that no team has ever achieved in the 102 year history of the National Football League.
The Bills had seven drives on offense. And on each and every drive, the Bills scored a touchdown. They didn’t punt, allow a turnover, or kick a field goal all game and the Bills are the first to ever do that. Other than one blocked and one missed extra point, the Bills achieved perfection tonight.
No matter how you cut it, that’s seriously impressive. They say “defense wins championships” but if you’re able to score a touchdown on every drive, the best your opponents can do is to match that. So for one night, the best defense was a great offense. Even though the defense stepped up as well.
