After a disappointing end to the season where the team lost its final seven games to miss out on the playoffs entirely, the Tennessee Titans have made a major move that they hope will set the team up for future success, hiring San Francisco 49ers executive Ran Carthon as the team’s new general manager. And after the big decision, Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk sounds confident in the team’s decision.
“We are excited to add Ran to our organization as our new General Manager,” Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk said in a statement, according to Pro Football Talk. “He brings a variety of valuable experiences to our team – as a former player and a successful personnel executive for multiple teams. I was impressed with his natural leadership qualities and his ability to connect with people.
“With talent evaluation being critical to this role, the roster they have built in San Francisco stands out. He played an important role there constructing one of our league’s best teams.”
This isn’t the only big-time move the Titans made during the offseason as the team also fired offensive coordinator Todd Downing. So, Tennessee is making major moves in both the front office and the coaching staff. Let’s see how it works out for them.
