The Tennessee Titans had high hopes entering this season after selecting former Miami Hurricanes star Cam Ward with the number one overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft. Unfortunately for the Titans, things have not gone the way the franchise had hoped.

The Titans fell to 0-3 after a 21 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, and Ward has failed to be the guy the Titans envisioned when they selected him first overall. Now, it looks like the Titans are making some drastic changes to get things turned around as quickly as possible.

A significant development for the #Titans: Coach Brian Callahan is handing off the play-calling duties to QBs coach Bo Hardegree,” reported NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

Titans HC Brian Callahan giving up play calling is the right thing to do. Let’s be clear. When he got hired, the fact that he called plays was a HUGE SELLING POINT. But he’s since proven he struggles to balance play calling w/ in-game duties,” one draft expert wrote on Twitter.

“Week 1: Had he not been balancing challenging the Ayomanor play with needing to get the next play called, perhaps he would have made a better decision. These things have to be decided FAST. Week 3: Had he not been worried about calling a 4th-down play AND deciding to kick/go for it, perhaps they avoid that embarrassing delay of game. Has not proven capable of doing all these things at once. Less is more, hopefully.”

“He will be handing off head coaching duties soon enough too,” one fan added.

“He probably needs to hand off all duties at this point. His game management is atrocious,” another fans added.

It’ll be interesting to see if the move pays dividends for the Titans.
