Kansas City Chiefs superstar tight end Travis Kelce has a major decision to make regarding his future in the NFL, and it sounds like it’s starting to impact his relationship with Taylor Swift.
As Kelce continues to ponder whether or not to walk away from his playing career, an inside source has told The Daily Mail that Kelce is not exactly in great spirits.
“Travis is a bit defeated right now,” the source told The Daily Mail. “He is used to still be playing, and he is missing not being on the field, which might bode well for his fans and the Chiefs if he decides to play another year.”
The inside source indicated that this is impacting his relationship with Taylor Swift as the two plan their wedding.
“Taylor understands that this is the first real test of their relationship,” the inside source told The Daily Mail. “They have been together and in love and have enjoyed the success of her tour and career and his Super Bowls and his career. Travis hasn’t been in this position before, where he is staring at his future with complete 20/20 vision.”
Obviously, this isn’t exactly optimistic news for the couple, and it led to a lot of reactions in the comments of the story.
“They spent their entire relationship with the eras tour and the chiefs being successful. They have never really spent time with each other outside the spotlight. His not winning ruins Taylor’s fantasy of being some sort of power couple. We shall see if they can survive life out of the spotlight. I’m guessing no because they hardly know each other,” one fan wrote in the comments of the story on The Daily Mail.
“The countdown to the breakup is on,” someone else speculated.
“Not sure the wedding will happen and if it does, the marriage definitely won’t. They are an odd match,” another person wrote.
“Taylor has to protect her bank account. Love is blind and stupid. Time to dust off that new breakup song,” someone else added.
“Their relationship has been a steady upward trajectory until this single, predicatable career change. If this one dip is already being labeled a ‘test’ of their bond, it raises the question of how they will handle a truly significant life crisis,” another person wrote.
“All professional athletes realize that the clock is ticking during their career. They know they have a limited amount of time. Travis knows that his brother Jason retired a few years ago, so he must be aware that his career time is limited. he’s already doing the podcast with Jason and most likely he will have other opportunities to branch out once his playing days are over. I wish him well,” someone else added.
We’ll have to see whether or not Kelce decides to retire and how this impacts his relationship with Taylor Swift.
